Larry and Effie bought this property, Birds Heaven, in April 2017. At that time, it had only 2 acres of the original forest. As locals committed to low-impact practices, we planted hundreds of indigenous plants to rehabilitate the area and restore its natural state.
Over half of our property remains dry eucalyptus woodland, attracting unique wildlife species.
The forest and native plants have brought a resurgence in wildlife, including bird species, kangaroos, possums, sugar gliders, bandicoots, and various reptiles, with occasional visits from local dingoes.
Our hobby farm features a beautiful fruit orchard and friendly farm animals, and our bees help pollinate many native flowers.
